Spend 5 minutes with me on Pinterest

One of my favourite bloggers, Meg, wrote a similar post a few weeks ago. As a fellow Pinterest addict, I thought it would be fun to show you what I’ve pinned over the last hour or so. Follow along with me as I clicked my way through!

I’ve always had a fascination with these, I call them dandelions but I think that’s probably what they’re not called. Ha!

some see a weed,I see a wish. Click on this image to see the biggest selection of life tips and positive quotes!:

I’m one of the world’s biggest procrastinators.  I put things off and then spend time wishing I’d just flipping well done them.

Great ideas for tackling procrastination and getting things done! Love this free printable to serve as a reminder!:

One of my goals this year is to grow my Instagram following.  *shameless plug – i’m @kezonlineuk over there if you want to come and say hi!* I love photo’s, I’m a super visual person so Instagram screams awesomeness to me. This post on which hashtags to use to grow your following is right up my street.

Instagram tips! How To Use Hashtags to Grow Your Instagram Following:

Of course, this wouldn’t be a productive hour if I hadn’t pinned any food.  Dave and I are training for our first 10k in May.. eeekk! Literally from couch to 10k… so we need some healthy stuff in our lives. And our lunchboxes.

Prepare Seven Healthy Lunches For The Week:

Thinking about food led me straight into the kitchen.  We have a black and white kitchen in our rented home and it is actually really lovely.  I’ve filled it with all sorts of colours that just don’t go ( so me ) and have been dreaming about something like this instead.  Now just to stop procrastinating and make it a reality.

We can't help but think of our Sagres design when we see this. www.avenuefloors.co.uk:

It’s also time I grew up and gave myself an adult bedroom instead of mis-matched sheets, old pillows and general crap everywhere.  This room is just gorgeous, possibly too white for messy old me but I love it all the same.

Second Hand Farmhouse Bedroom Makeover:

Ah, my office… aka a corner of my lounge. I desperately need a new desk and chair! It’s on the plan ‘to do’ this year – oh man how gorgeous is this chair?? Oh Pinterest… I need this.

Home office accessories - Blog:

These stairs are in Meg’s craft house. So much love for these, but I don’t think Dave would be too happy if he’d come home and I’d ripped up the carpet and painted the stairs like a rainbow. Spoilsport.

Crushing on these rainbow stairs from @megduerksen's craft house! So fun!

Summer… oh summer where have you been?! I’m longing for long, light, warmer days. And hopefully more sunshine than we had last year. (I’m lookin’ at you Mr Wet Summer of 2015) Soaking up the sun - craving this feeling.:

Back to food. It was inevitable.  This squash, leek and broccoli pie is literally calling my name. Nommmm! Leek, squash and broccoli pie - Main course - Vegetarian & Vegan Recipes | Vegetarian Living magazine (with a vegan option):

And this for dessert. Obv’s. I cannot pass up a pavlova, no matter how much I try.

Strawberry Daiquiri pavlova:

What have YOU been pinning? Let me know your pinterest deets and I’ll hook up with you. I’m here over there. If that makes sense.

Happy Wednesday lovelies,

Kez x

Summer Garden on a budget – #PinAddicts Linky 2

We recently moved into a new rented home.  The house is newly renovated throughout which is lovely but the garden is a SHAMBLES. Like huge patches of MUD and uneven grass all the way through.  Its a long, narrow garden with quite a bit of space and a footpath splitting it up the middle leading to a gate which opens up onto the neighbouring farmer’s cornfield.

It needs a LOT of work. Dave and I are not very green-fingered although we would like to be. The garden screams SPEND MONEY ON ME AND DIG UNTIL YOU CAN’T DIG NO MORE.

Neither of which really appeals to us. But we opted to dig. And patch up. And source free stuff to make the garden a happy sunshiney place to enjoy this summer.

Dave had a week off last week and literally spent every waking moment in the garden with our friend James (aka Mr Sydenhams.. lol) He managed to source us some free pallets, brought over all his tools and we were OFF.

This is the general plan for the layout of the garden taken from about halfway up the garden. Look at my awesome washing. Real blog worthy pic stuff.

Garden LayoutAs always, inspired by Pinterest we decided to give it a go..

I’ve got some detailed posts coming on how we built our deck and shed base using pallets so watch out for those in the next couple of weeks – in the meantime here’s a sneak peek of our decking… I’m so flipping proud of the boys.. they did an amazing job! The girls and I had the job of staining it << tough stuff for us.

FullSizeRender (16)

The furniture and tables and borders and plants etc all still need to be done, but it’s a work-in-progress and we hope to have it completed before the next half term 🙂 We did a quick tally up and the total cost for the decking so far comes in at around £80… total steal! You can source free pallets at local warehousing/distribution companies or even at your local supermarkets.  I found some pretty cheap on eBay too.

My next project while Dave cracks on with the furniture is my pallet herb garden.. I’m hoping it’s going to end up something like this 🙂

Welcoming back the PinAddicts challenge!

A couple of years ago I set up a website dedicated to all Lovers of Pinterest. PinAddicts 🙂

A linky party once a month which encouraged people to re-create something they had pinned on Pinterest. Instead of just pinning ALL.THE.THINGS and forgetting about them in Internet land, I decided that I actually wanted some of that stuff in my house. In my wardrobe. At our parties. In my life.

Pinaddicts FB cover

And so the PinAddicts site was born. A team of 7 amazing women wrote daily posts for the site on all things Pinterest – Recipes, DIY’s, Craft, Décor, Activities, you name it these chicks blogged about it. We had a stack of people blogging about things they had been inspired to make and do & then entering them into our linky. Sometimes we ran giveaways, we ALWAYS had lots of fun.

And then. My Dad got really ill. My life was literally turned upside down and I struggled to go to work every day, let alone blog all things happy and Pinterest. The site petered out, it needed love and I didn’t have any to give.

18 months on and my Dad is doing well, my life has finally returned to some sort of normality and I’ve started blogging again. I’ve had so much interest in the PinAddicts site, people literally email me weekly to find out if/when it’s starting up again.

And so…………. the PinAddicts linky is reborn!

I’m going to keep it here on my blog for now, a linky party every Tuesday which will remain open until the following Monday at midnight. So you’ll always have a linky to join and be inspired by fellow bloggers.  You’ll fast become part of this awesome community we have going over here.  We’re still on Facebook so come over and join us for daily inspiration on using up your craft stash, tips & tricks, tutorials – you name it we’ll be blabbing about it.

So, how does it work?

1) Find something you want to recreate that you have pinned on Pinterest

2) Recreate that thing

3) Blog about it! (or join in via the Facebook page if you don’t blog)

4) Come here every Tuesday and link it into the party  – make friends, be awesome, have fun!

Who’s excited? 🙂

Little Loves: Wore, Read, Watched, Loved!

Read

I haven’t read a book since the summer…. September is a crazy hectic month with the kids starting school, picking up more work and generally trying to get back into routine. However I read this fantastic article by Richard Branson on Why Virgin are letting their staff take as much Holiday as they want, when they want…. revolutionising the workplace here people!

Watched

Glue. Wow Wow Wow. This is an 8-part HECTIC drama series, which opens with the body of a teenage traveller, found dead underneath the wheels of a tractor – revealing the dirty secrets of Berkshire’s horse stables and farms. Think drugged up teenagers, nudity & a thrilling police investigation. It’s pretty hectic but a Must-Watch!

Wore

Ok I haven’t actually worn this YET. It’s an Apricot dress I bought in the Debenhams sale last week, I tried it on and it fit like a freaking glove. Super happy as I want to wear it on the posh night on the mini-cruise we’re going on next weekend. I just need to glam it up a little, JoJo Rugby Widow suggested a new belt, purse and shoes to match – God I love that woman. Pure genius, I’m CRAP with styling outfits!

Heard

I heard this by Nicki Minaj on my daughters playlist the other day. I don’t normally like old NicMin but this song has a nice melody to it and now I love it!

Made

Apart from ‘making’ a mess (man why am I so MESSY?!) I haven’t made much. BUT I’ve been hoop inspired on Pinterest and plan to make something from this board over the weekend.

And Lastly

I filmed the Secret Diary of a Youtuber Tag 🙂 check it out here!

I’m linking this post up to the sexy ButWhyMummyWhy’s #littleloves post this week – hop over and check this sexy mama out, and also to Mama Kat’s 31 days of Blogging prompts – Day 2: Something I read!

Pinspired Craft Shop – #cbias

My laundry room / guest loo always looks a TOTAL mess. So, I set myself a £30 ‘Loveable Laundry’ challenge as part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias.  I figured, if I’m going to be spending a part of every day in here, I need to make it loveable. You’ll be amazed at what you can do with £30 and half a day!

I gained my ‘Pinspiration’ from the awesome ‘Tales from a Cottage’ blog – Check out this gals blog, she makes stuff just EASY.
Pinspiration – Fabric covered baskets
The loot!

I had a good old rummage around the local craft store, Think Outside the Box, as well as popping into 2 bigger super-saver shops ( Poundstretcher & B&M Bargains) to pick up the last few bits and bobs.

I eventually ended up going for the summery, vintage looking fabric for this particular project. I KNOW I’m going back tomorrow to pick p the other combo too 🙂

So, to make the fabric baskets, take a plastic basket and place it in the middle of a square meter of fabric (or enough fabric as if you were to wrap the basket as a present)  Cut 4 diagonal slits to the corners of the basket – stopping about 1 inch before the base of the basket.

Cut away any excess fabric so that you can fold the edges to create a neat, smooth edge.

Fold over and glue in place. I’m using a glue gun as I was unable to pick up any spray adhesive.

Eeeekkk! The world is a better place when a glue gun is in action.
Trust Me.
What I love most about this project is that you do NOT have to be neat or a crafty perfectionist at ALL. You literally just keep tucking the corners in , wrap, and hot glue the heck out of it!

Once the 2 long sides are complete, fold over the diagonal corner, to ensure a straight line

Fold up into place

Cut a piece of material for the base, hot glue it, stick it and VOILA!

Fabric covered baskets 🙂
So… let’s take a little wander into the ‘Loveable Laundry!’

Love this 🙂

And here they are! Stationed above the washing machine for easy access & organisation of cleaning products.

Even the buttercup-y things have come in to say hello!

My 2 glass dishes came in very handy – one for random pegs and one to throw all of the CHANGE that comes out of pockets – keep this up and I’ll be RICH!

My ‘Tea & Sugar’ washing powder and softener decanters ( for use with very important spoon!)

I printed this last year as part of the PinAddicts Challenge. Love it so much, I’ve framed it and propped it up above the baskets!

Of course I had to add some ‘ambience’ 🙂

Blow On, Blow Off candles… what’s not to love?!

And there she is … in all her glory – what do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments, or leave a link to your home makeover!

Britmums Live: I’m Going AND I’m babbling!

Yip… I’m babbling at Britmums Live. There I am. On the speakers list. Along with all of the cool people. I am NOT cool. Never have been, Never will be. God help me.

I will be the nervous, wildly hand gesturing, babbling one on the Pinterest discussion panel. I may even have vodka in my bag.

I made it a goal last year to be up on the stage somewhere this year, rambling on about Pinterest and how our PinAddicts challenge has changed the WORLD. And here we are…. on the stage people. Eeek!

Blog Techie Tip: How to Change your Email Subject Line in 5 minutes!

I was always baffled as to why my blog email subscriptions were delivered with my blog name in the subject line, like this :
From:                                     Subject:                                               Received:                      Size:
My Lovebumps                     My Lovebumps                                        14/04/2013                    17kb
Instead of the ‘New Post Title’ in the subject line, like this:
emailcrop
Well FEAR NOT! I have a simple, 5 minute fix to this problem – you ready?
1) Log in to your Feedburner account
2) Click on the Publicize Tab
3) Click on ‘Email Subsctriptions’ from the navigation menu
4) Click on ‘Email Branding’ from the sub menu
5) You now have the option to change the Email Title
6) Add this code:   ${latestItemTitle}    in the title & it will replace it with the latest post title
7) Scroll down and click ‘Save’
feedburner
8) Send me cake to thank me for rocking your blog world (I’m so modest it’s unfreaking believable)
Hope this helps some of you – it will really encourage your readers to click through to your posts directly from their Inbox’s – Awesomeness.
Feel free to stick a pin in this if you found it useful 🙂 Ps: I’ve REblogged this from my post on the PinAddicts Website – if you love Pinterest as much as me, you should TOT’s come over and join us!

PinAddicts Challenge March: Washi Tape my LIFE!

What do you do when gifted with umpteen rolls of gorgeous floral washi tape?
You sticky tape the hell out of wooden letters people. That’s what you do.
And they turn out fabulous. Yes, they really do. From now on, NOTHING will escape the stickiness of my tape. Everything will be covered in washi tape goodness.
I recently heard about a chick who washi-taped her ENTIRE dining table. That’s sellotape dedication for you.

Whad’dya think?

Not too bad for a first attempt if I do say so myself. And it could not be easier…

You need a Wooden letter (or letters, I’ll be doing every word in the dictionary ALL over the house)
Some washi tape
Modge Podge
Paintbrush
Scissors

Stick the washi tape all over your letter. (this is the fun, creative bit) Taking care to tuck in the edges.  Once completely covered, mod podge over the top and VOILA! You’re done. Simple Pimple.

Display proudly on shelves, walls, counter tops…. Everywhere. Admire. Love.

Of course I originally saw this on Pinterest here:
