10 Awesome Things under £10

10under10So, I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for sweet little gifts and spoils on a budget. I’ve scouted and poked my nose all around the internet and managed to round up 10 AWESOME Things for under a tenner. I’ll be doing this every Tuesday here on the blog so keep your eyes peeled and be sure to sign up to all of my social stuff so you don’t miss out on this awesomeness.

10 under 101. Floral Skirt

This skirt from Boohoo.com is so freaking pretty for summer. Pair this with a tucked in white tee and a pair of sandals or converse and you’re summer ready dudes. AND it’s a steal at only £8!

2. Kylie – Darling Eau de Toilette

I had a whiff of this in Superdrug – sweet and floral, it’s the perfect summer scent. Marked down from £ 32.50 to just £9.99 at Fragrance Direct!

3. Honey pot with dipper

Since we’ve been on our health kick, we’ve consumed SO MUCH honey in our house. This little honey pot from The Present Finder is just the thing to keep it in so that your cupboards don’t get sticky like mine and attract every single ant in England for a massive honey orgy. Also.. Just £9.99.

4. Olivia Jelly Bag

The gorgeous ButWhyMummyWhy has a fantastic, quirky online kids store – Little & Fierce. Seriously, hop over and check it out, it’s childhood HAPPINESS all wrapped up.  When I saw this Jelly Bag I fell in love… I had one just like this when I was little and it brought back fab memories of me dragging my babies around in it, clopping around in my jelly shoes to match. It’s in the Sale at the moment for just £7!

5. Sleek Pout Polish

I’ve mentioned this little beauty a few times before – this is my absolute all-time favourite tinted lip balm – it’s not sticky, it lasts ages and is perfect for your summer hols. Pucker up peeps for just £ 4.49!

6. Vintage Style Headband

I’m a lover of a headband. I have a huge forehead and kind of convince myself that headbands detract from this unfortunate genetic blessing. (Thanks Dad) I found these on Etsy for just £5.27, handmade in the UK. Yip they’re adorable.

7. Vase

I always buy flowers for our housie.  I kind of have a flower obsession & I’m so glad Lidl does amazing flowers for cheap cheap. I can literally buy 3 bunches for a fiver and spread them out into 3 vases.  This gorgeous Vase from Asda George caught my eye and marked down to a FIVER? It’s a little blossom of a bargain.

8. Paperclips

I’m a planner NERD. A Stationery NERD. Basically, all-round nerd.  These funky paperclips caught my eye on Etsy recently.  I know you could probably make them yourself for a fraction of the cost but at just £3.45 for the set I think they’re totally worth it. Rainbow paperclips, yes please.

9. Shearer Candle

I lurrve candles.  They make your house smell clean even when it isn’t. Lol.  This one has a more wintery scent but look how beautiful it is.  It would look fabulous on my now pretty monochrome desk so I think I have to have it. AND it’s only 7 bucks. Joy!

10. Rings

Another Etsy Find… Midi rings! Ahhhh… I’m in love with the Love Ring.  This one ships from the US for £6.59 plus pp… BUT I have found similar in Primark…. just not the Love word.  If you find a UK version, please lemme know.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little round-up – happy shopping!

Summer Garden on a budget – #PinAddicts Linky 2

We recently moved into a new rented home.  The house is newly renovated throughout which is lovely but the garden is a SHAMBLES. Like huge patches of MUD and uneven grass all the way through.  Its a long, narrow garden with quite a bit of space and a footpath splitting it up the middle leading to a gate which opens up onto the neighbouring farmer’s cornfield.

It needs a LOT of work. Dave and I are not very green-fingered although we would like to be. The garden screams SPEND MONEY ON ME AND DIG UNTIL YOU CAN’T DIG NO MORE.

Neither of which really appeals to us. But we opted to dig. And patch up. And source free stuff to make the garden a happy sunshiney place to enjoy this summer.

Dave had a week off last week and literally spent every waking moment in the garden with our friend James (aka Mr Sydenhams.. lol) He managed to source us some free pallets, brought over all his tools and we were OFF.

This is the general plan for the layout of the garden taken from about halfway up the garden. Look at my awesome washing. Real blog worthy pic stuff.

Garden LayoutAs always, inspired by Pinterest we decided to give it a go..

pallet seating

I’ve got some detailed posts coming on how we built our deck and shed base using pallets so watch out for those in the next couple of weeks – in the meantime here’s a sneak peek of our decking… I’m so flipping proud of the boys.. they did an amazing job! The girls and I had the job of staining it << tough stuff for us.

The furniture and tables and borders and plants etc all still need to be done, but it’s a work-in-progress and we hope to have it completed before the next half term 🙂 We did a quick tally up and the total cost for the decking so far comes in at around £80… total steal! You can source free pallets at local warehousing/distribution companies or even at your local supermarkets.  I found some pretty cheap on eBay too.

My next project while Dave cracks on with the furniture is my pallet herb garden.. I’m hoping it’s going to end up something like this 🙂

What are you doing in your garden this summer? Do you have any cool pins to share with me? Let me know in the comments pleeeeasse! I’d love to chat to you.
