Floral jumpsuits, Cocktails on the deck & Mountain views – #littleloves

This week has been filled with food, food and more food. We’re eating more healthily and cutting out carbs – I’m not the best cook and defo not creative so I’ve taken to reading loads of recipe books and following recipes for dinners this week. It seems to have worked so far! Anyhoo – on with my #littleloves for this week:

Read

For someone who loves to read I seem to fail miserably at this category every week. I spend all day reading online for work, so much so that my head is constantly spinning – yet I can never pick one thing that seems cool enough for this category.  I did however hop over to an old blog I used to read when I lived in Cape-Town – Kelly-Anne’s blog. Kelly-Anne started blogging as a child and is now around 18 years old, she runs a little online craft shop and makes the most beautiful things. She also bakes, sews, you name it – that girl can do it! She wrote a beautiful post on visiting her grandmother in the mountains and the scenery was just breathtaking. It made me miss home SO much! I wish I was brave enough to live somewhere this secluded.

Watched

I watched Shan get all stroppy playing pool with us in the pub. HA! We don’t go there too often (it’s the pub we used to own) but now and then we head down there for a visit and Shan insists on CHEATING us at pool. It’s fun to watch. Lol.

On Friday I headed out with 20 girls to celebrate some birthdays. It was a fab night and I stepped outside my comfort zone and wore this floral jumpsuit from New Look. Yip – NO black here guys, miracle. It was so comfy and a size smaller than usual so I was over the moon. I forgot to take a full selfie shot so this is the best I could come up with in the car. Haha.

It looks like this on, I wore mine with flat gold sparkly sandals but you could absolutely dress it up with heels/wedges too.

My friend posted this song on Facebook and it’s STUCK in my brain all week – Thanks Kerri! It’s country / cheese fest / poppy and I love it! Whack it on full blast and dance around the living room. Go on.

As I mentioned I’ve been trying to whip up some yummy healthy meals this week – my Instagram feed is literally filled with food.  This salad was from the Essentials magazine – butternut, sweet potato, pomegranate seeds, rocket and baby leaf salad, feta and a nutty yoghurt dressing. Seriously YUM.

And Lastly

Our pallet decking is coming on so well – we’ve been working our bums off to get it ready for the summer. I still can’t believe we did all this for FREE! Dave whipped up our benches this week, now to paint and decorate them with cushions and lights and all the pretty things… We’re so close to it being done – I can’t wait to lounge on it  in the sunshine with a cocktail!

Skinny Jeans, Bake Fail & Pink Parcel lovin’ – #littleloves

Some of my #littleloves from this past week – linking up with the awesome ButWhyMummyWhy 🙂

Read

I’m busy reading Gone Girl. I’m REALLY struggling to get into it though.. it received raving reviews but I literally cannot get past page 10. Apparently I have to read it before I see the film though so I’m ploughing through it!

Watched

We finally finished Homeland… what the HELL was that ending all about?! GUTTED. Apart from that I haven’t watched much tv or even a lot on YouTube. We did manage to watch First Dates though and the older couple really touched my heart.

Wore

We went out a LOT last weekend. We can literally go months without a night out and then everything seems to happen on one weekend. I was out with work Friday night for a curry and then my darling sister came down for the weekend so we went out for a meal and drinks with friends. It was a fab weekend and absolutely needed by us all. I managed to fit into my skinny jeans while seriously sucking in and unable to breathe but I still GOT THEM ON! Boom! Skinny_Jeans

I’ve been introduced to the James Bay album and I love love love it! This song has probably been overplayed but it’s still awesome 🙂

Made

I’m a terrible baker. Like the worst in the world. I just don’t have the patience for it. However I CAN whip up these awesome Bran Muffins in less than 5 minutes and they are Super delish. The recipe is on my blog Here – so flipping scrummy! The mixture keeps for 30 days in an airtight container in the fridge so you can bake as required or bake and freeze. Perfecto.

Bran_MuffinAnd Lastly

I’m still vlogging away and found this cool little company called ‘Pink Parcel’ It’s basically a monthly subscription box that is delivered to you around the time your ‘Aunty Flo’ comes to visit and it’s filled with essentials and treats. I loved it so much I decided to blab about it in this video

And that’s me done for the week! Click the badge below for more #littleloves from around blogland. Have an awesome weekend!

February-2015-Prima-cover-Ruth-Jones

Soooo… for the first time in ages I bought a magazine and actually sat down to read it! I absolutely love Ruth Jones so this cover sucked me in – how AMAZING does she look? She’s freaking hilarious too.

undateables

I can’t seem to find ANYTHING to watch?! I got bored of Celeb Big Brother after the first episode, I’m still watching my gorgeous Will.I.Am in The Voice on Saturdays, I missed the first season of Broadchurch and can’t find it on my catchup thing…. arrggghhh! First World Problems. SO I found 4 series of ‘The Undateables’ on catchup and have become a little bit addicted. There’s so much love in this program. I felt particularly sad for this dude and kind of wished I could just jump in the tv to give him a snog.

Dave and I escaped for a DATE! We went off to Bath to watch Taken 3 and have dinner at the Cosy Club. Deliciousness! I wore my new poncho from M & Co but forgot to take a pic and can’t find it online! It’s this style and colour but with more of an aztec print. I’ll snap it next time I wear it 🙂

Heard

The internet’s gone Cray-Cray with sharing this amazing Video of Maroon 5 gatecrashing a number of weddings in LA for their latest music video – ‘Sugar’ I could honestly watch this 100 times a day and tear up every time!

I’ve been cooking from a Parragon Superfood book this week and whipped up this amazing salad from the book, with a few added extra’s ! This is melon, red onion, avocado, seed mix, dried apricots and apple. OMG it was super delish.  Check the book out here: The Superfood Kitchen. I’ll have a video up early next week on it too!

And lastly..

I signed up to another Blog Conference! This time to Blog on Cymru in Cardiff in March. I haven’t been to one since Britmums Live 18 months ago and I stumbled across THIS old post from BlogCamp Bristol a couple of years ago. The baby in the stroller is one of the sweet stars of Along Came Cherry’s  blog – How tiny was she Jess? 🙂

What have you dudes been up to this week?

The Wrong Knickers?

That got your attention! Ha! A few #littleloves of mine from this week 🙂

Read

I read an article on Bryony Gordon and her Mum in an issue of Woman & Home (I think) and loved it. So when I saw her book, ‘The Wrong Knickers – A decade of chaos’ on the shelves I just knew I had to read it. I haven’t read an actual book for about 6 months. Oh the shame! By page 2 I was literally laughing out loud so I know it’s going to be a good’n.  Also, Amazon has this book for just £3.99 at the moment – click the image above to take a looksie!

Necker Island. Last night Dave and I watched this documentary on Richard Branson’s private island – Necker Island. It was pretty interesting and an absolutely beautiful place to visit. Although I couldn’t shake off the feeling that all of the staff were raging, swinging alcoholics. Also, it costs £30k per week to stay there. Yip. You just read that right.

Shan got this headband from my Mum for Christmas and I fell in love with it. Haha. She very kindly let me wear it on a stomp around the canal. Thanks Shan.

Ok what the hell is going on? I’ve heard way too many options this week about the attack on Charlie Hebdo. I mean what the heck?! Some of the cartoonists were knocking on 80 years old for god’s sake. WHAT.THE.ACTUAL.HELL.

Madephoto (20)

Bit of a cheat on this one as I actually didn’t make this myself. Shan made these delicious rolls at school this week and despite their odd hot dog kind of shape they were flipping yummy and she was super duper proud of them.

And lastly..

We FINALLY whacked our way through the Christmas choccies and this is all that’s left I’m pleased to say. Bring on the Juice Plus diet please, I must’ve put on a stone this Christmas!
